Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) will present its first Self-Published Author and Small Press Book Fair on Sunday, November 8, at 2:30 p.m., in the Main Library's Darragh Center, 100 Rock Street. The book fair is free and open to the public.
Distribution of books by small presses or the authors themselves is becoming a more common occurrence through the increase in resources outside traditional presses and online book selling. A recent study by Author Earning, an author advocacy group, attributed around 30% of online sales of books to self-published titles.

The event closes the Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL) used book sale, and is an opportunity for readers and writers to mingle, discuss the self-publishing business, and support local authors and small presses by purchasing books at the fair.
Participants include Adjoa Ayietoro, Daniel Berleant, Linda Black, Darrel Couch, Richard DeLaurell, Meg Dendler, Augustine Fredrich, Doris Gates, K.K. Harris, Bonnie Hatchett, Quintessa Hathaway Hervey, Alice Holeman, Maria Hoskins, Vivian Jones, R.N. Jordan, Janis F. Kearney, Terri Luckey, Kathleen McDonald, Brooke Moorehead, Megan Neumann, Darcy Pattison, Liz Russell, Latina Sheard, Daniel Smith, Stephanie Thompson, Stan Trauth, Natalie Valerezo, Jim West, Jonathan Wolfe, Ramona Wood, Butler Center Books, Mims House, Plum Street Publishing, The Writers Colony at Dairy Hollow, Writing Our World Publishing, and more.
